anyone happen to know what size nuts hold the rear drive shaft to the transfer case/parking brake on a 1970 fj40

thanks

12mm IIRC

I have a 69, and i believe that they were smaller than 12mm. I think, if you can believe this, that they are closer to 8-9 mm.

Good Luck!

The head is a 14mm and the Bolt thread is 10x1.25mm

10mm bolt diameter from 8/69 to 1/74

From Cruiseroutfitters.com

Pinion Flange - $35.50
Course-spline pinion flange (10 spl), single pattern.
10mm ID Bolt Hole - 64mm x 56mm pattern.
(Fits 8/69'-1/74' FJ40/55)
Part# PN35011 (MLC-090)

They are kind of specific in their design, too.:)
