I have 2 sets of unused/new rotors that have confusing part numbers on them... Bendix PRT 1661, one set from China and 1 set from Canada. Says when I look them up that they fit landcruiser models from 1990 to 1992... ????
1990 is a FJ62 and the 1991-1992 is the FJ80.
Anyone out there with an idea as to what these really fit?
PICS

Canadian ones...

91 92 is semi float same as the 62

Fronts are different between the 80 and 62 or 60 series.
The rears are both semi floats, drums

The confusion stems from all the vehicle parts sites saying that these 1661 rotors fit 1990-1992.... How can that be?

According to the RockAuto site, Bendix PRT1661 is for the 1990 Land Crusier from 1/90 on.
Bendix P/N PRT1510 is for up to 1/90.

Note the differences in the dimensions between the two different part numbers I have shown.

According to the RockAuto site, the 1/90 through 92 MY take the PRT1661 front rotors. Not saying it's right. It's what's listed.

The McGeorge Toyota site shows a 91 LC and a 90 LC take the SAME brake rotor, (EDITED OUT. SEE ONUR POST BELOW)

So, I'm not sure what your confusion is. Both of your rotors show the same P/N, one is from China, one is from CA. Are the MEASUREMENTS different?

What do you REALLY need?

Use the sites as we all do: Rockauto, McGeorge Toyota, Partsouq.......You can get your own answers to these questions with 10 minutes of searching.

Both sets of rotors are the same, that is a given. Issue is, how can they fit ANY 1990 which is a FJ62 AND the 1991-1992 FJ80??
Are these exclusive to the FJ80 91-92 only and the 1990 compatibility an error?

Okay, based on dimensions, these are for a 1991-1992 FJ80... Any association to the 1990 is an error and I am not sure why ALL the sites have this part number listed as 1990-1992. Whew...

There is probably a legitimate 1990 application, since it states 1/90 and later for one P/N.

(EDITED OUT FOR CLARITY. REFER TO ONUR'S POST BELOW.)

My 96 was made 8/95 so I have to really watch my parts and search by VIN.

The clarify the muddy information from above:

All FJ62's were manufactured on or before 12/1989. There are no manufactured FJ62's after that date though there are 1990 MY FJ62's (manufactured 1989 for MY 1990).

43512-60100 are the rotors for all pre-1/1990 and earlier disc brake heavy duty Land Cruisers (4x/6x/7x).

43512-60011 is for disc brake LC's prior to 6/1980.

43512-60050 is for all early 80 series trucks (HDJ80/81 and FJ80) through beginning of 8/1992. I assume these aftermarket rotors are 43512-60050 equivalents.

The part number changes again worldwide in 8/1992 to the 43512-60090 part number moving forward to EOP.

Thanks Onur! I edited my posts to remove erroneous information to let yours carry.

Yes, thanks to you both...I appreciate knowing what these will go on as I did not buy them, sort of inherited the lot!

Just a final note... the 80 series was released here in Australia in 1990... hence it being from 90-92.

From memory, in september 92 Toyota upgraded the front rotor and caliper to a larger size hence a different part number.

Also for what it’s worth, you can “convert” earlier (90-8/92) landcruisers to the later calipers and rotors but you need the backing plates as well. The later brakes are a pretty substantial upgrade...

Cheers
