just picked one up its a 15 ton was just curious what your all running? also what some one said that you should not use grade 8 bolts as they are more likey to break under pressure but this doesnt seem to make sense to me?

thanks
mike

Mike-

Your pinTle is rated high enough to tow a bus! You should be fine. Mine is rated at 7 tons... which is also overkill. You will be limited by your cruisers capacity (anyone?) way before the pintles capacity.

And I think your info on Grade 8 bolts is poor. Although the shear stregnth may be different than its yeild strength, it is WAY better/safer to run it than the regular hardware store stuff.

Hope it helps-

I am running a 15 ton because the 5 ton one I originally bought was too small for the lunnete ring on my M416. The 5ton one would barely close on it and when you turned you could hear it binding, the 15 ton one is a perfect fit. It is pretty funny considering I use it with my 3.slo 4runner.
