So I just put on some manly 285X75X16 BFG AT KOs. These tires look great, but they may be a little too "manly" for a stock '00 100. Should I try to do a 1" lift? Suspension lift or body lift? What are the advantages and disadvantages. At some point I think I'll get one of those ARB bull bars. I to my wife what I wanted to do to her car and she didn't immediately say no! That sounds like a "yes" to me!

Should I do the lift or the bull bar?

hmmmm.

How difficult is your OME suspension kit to install? Do I need to take it to a mechanic or can someone reasonably mechanically inclined do the install? 1 more question. It looks like it's a 2" lift kit. That might be a little too high for my wife to tolerate. Anything smaller?

Thanks!

I have an OME lift on my 100 and my wife has no problem with it. You're not really going to find anything much taller than 2 1/2" and with anything less, why bother? As for the bull bar or lift, save your allowance and get both.

Mac...

How's the ride with the OME gear as compared to stock? Did you drop your differential?

The ride is more stiff and controlled. I did not drop my diff. I have the sway away front torsion bars and rear ome springs and 4 ome shocks.

I suggest lift, tires and then sliders. After that, front bumper and winch.

The same goes with me. Stiffer ride, more control. Better in turns. I did not drop the diff. either.

The best mod (2-hours) one can make when lifting a 100 is to change the T-bars AND lower the front diff. This restores the CV joints to almost the original angle. For 2 hours work and $50 you can't not do it. You regain your down-travel too which improves on your ride on and off road.
