I have a 1991 pzj70 cruiser stock from Japan . I am thinking of putting a lift kit on it but would like some input as to pro's and con's .
I use the 70 for everything so I don't really want to make it a strickly off road unit. Brand names and pricing of kits would be a bonus.

You don't say where you are located and that effects what I'd recommend. Since you are a newb and driving that era of vehicle I'm going to guess you are in Western Canada and your rig is a recently imported JDM. If my guess is corrrect, Old Man Emu Dakar is the best choise for the money. It will improve the ride and give you 70mm of lift over stock. It's fine for a daily driver.

I've seen the kits selling for less than $1500 and install is another $300-$500

Hey just wondering how you are liking the PZJ? I have tried doing a bit of research on the engine and truck but doesn't seem to be much out there. I read somewhere that they only made the PZJ engine for a few (maybe 5) years, is that correct? Otherwise I suppose the truck is similar to other 70's?

Just curious.

engine, tranny and front diff is different

lift kits are the same for the 70 series (different for 77 and for 75 series)
