you tell me... it is the first time i saw this...
5V99510466F.webp
5V99510466R.webp

...it has the bumpstops for the fold down windshield, which I thought were only available on the rag tops... also looks like the rear bumper has been hit / bent... also the small pass. side mirror on the front fender is rare on a MWB, isn't it?

...looks like a fold up camp chair on the spare tire carrier, useful for sitting on as you admire it in the garage 'cause you can't insure it... :p

okay, can I take my previous answers back?

whats unique about this cruiser is YOU CANT INSURE IT!

hahahaha

Natty picked out some good points but the mirror on the front fender is normal for a JDM.

This is a post 1990 model and I thought they normally had the FRP painted the same as the body.
It doesnt seem to have the 1/4 glass in the doors.
Maybe this is a soft top with an FRP fitted or a FRP top model fitted with soft top doors etc.:meh:

Apart from having the wheel at the wrong side ;) and the strange mirror it looks quite normal to me.
The FRP - top being 'white' (it is a kind of green-ish white) is normal over here. If not white they are painted afterwards.
Rosco's guess being it originally a softtop might be a good one.
Maybe a bit strange (not standard) is the front bumper. From the picture it's chrome. Most of the time they're black painted.

here is a hint
serial number HZJ70000**** feb 1994

The dude's asleep at the wheel man. Come on. ;) Maybe it's a shorty. I can't tell, angle's bad. And I think my eyes are telling me there's a full floater there, bump stops for fold down windscreen, one wing mirror looks chromed, other plastic, plus mini parking mirror, has a folding chair, sleeping driver, white FRP top, fading paint on the hood, kinked rear bumper, no PTO winch, little cable coming down in front of the front axle, it's a 94, so where's the Toyota GRILLE Badge?

can't tell if he is asleep or just writing his report...

getting warmer...

Looks to be a swb not a middy with the frp top and half doors so a ragtop with a cut down frp? apart from the mentioned fold down windowscreen, mirror on the bonnet and chair thing on the back it has some weird side visors and also something is going on with the springs. Or is it on coils with something going on underneath where the leaf spring is meant to be. It also has a different grill

goldboy
you amaze me...
i have always thought a 70 with a removable hard top would be the cats ass...and here it is but with the yen where it is, shipping costing what it does... it can sit there... last year at this time i would have been all over it..

yes, there were some other things that made it unique but this is what stood out...

I wonder how the rear half doors work, without it being a ragtop?

the half doors have their own metal suround on the soft top frame so i can understand how it works on the FRP...
now what i want to know...is this a factory FRP 70 or a cut down 73 top? if it is a cut down then how did the person allow for the soft top windshield reciever??
