Hey just bought this after my other took a crap. Everything is correct, but this cable. What is it? Will it still work because the other didn’t have it.

Alright, thanks for the response. Could I splice the wire, and hook it up to the coild, and get rid of the preveous wire going to it? I will provide pictures when I get off work to show what i'm talking about.Fixed it for you.
Typically, that 'extra wire' provides a full 12v to the coil only when cranking, vs. the reduced (8 volts) the coil normally sees after going through a ballast resistor. If the truck starts just fine without it, it's not critical. It's not applicable to all years of trucks, IIRC.
