What is this hole in hard top? (1 Viewer)

This hole had a rubber plug. There is one on both sides. This is the top, just behind the B pillar. It is threaded on the inside.
Is it an optional shoulder belt mount? (my shoulder belt was mounted on the roll bar).

When I refinish the top, I plan to put the plugs back in, but I'm curious as to what would bolt in here.

What year is your 40? My 77 had its belts attached to the hard top in what looks to be the same place.

shoulder belt I think. remember many markets didn't have a OEM roll bar.

Mine too, I ordered the CCOT kit to attach seatbelts to roll cage so I could take the top off.

I guess some 40's came from the factory w/ tabs already on the roll bar for seatbelts.
