Little silver box with no cover on it kind a looks like a relay but not sure what for.
Red hose coming out of firewall looks like somebody just stuck it on the distributor cap

Red hose from the distributor cap to the firewall is a distributor cap vent. Later 2F's have a vacuum system that will evacuate the (potentially explosive) ozone generated in the dizzy and send it through the carb to be burned in the cylinders. ; not sure what year that started though. Some people have been known to (mistakenly? Ill-advisably?) delete this system as part of a de-smog.

With out looking into it thinking if the distributor cap has two hoses the one to the carburetor would be under vacuum and the one to the cab would then flow from the cab to the distributor. Same principal as the PCV system.

So the explosive gases are sucked into the cabin ?

There's no sucking going on in yours, just a passive vent. The late system (as on my 1980) pulls air/gasses from the dizzy and dumps them into the air cleaner.

But any ozone in the cabin would be diluted pretty quickly; not much risk of explosion there. The bigger risk even in the dizzy is rust - ozone will get anything to rust a lot faster than just plain oxygen. That is why the advance mechanisms of many FJ40 and FJ60 dizzys are rusted solid. And parts for them are getting harder and harder to find.
