what is the ideal diesel motor for swap?

Here are two picts of my 96 6bt next to my Toy I-6 The third shows how much space you have to work with after its in place in an 80.

looks pretty tight. What all did you remove from your 6bt to reduce weight, you said 2 wires to run it, pump and what else, glow plugs? what axels are you putting under it?

One wire to the starter, and the other to the pump. removed the fan assy. and will change out the manafold, not too much else... remove the battery(s) from the front to the rear, will help save lots depending on size and class.
As for the axles, Ill be running Portals from protal-tek.
