What if you buy one in another country, register it there, and drive it home?

Looks like it can only be in the country a year? Canada isn't far away from me. Cross the border. Cross it again. Reset the clock.

I don't want to retire in this country. I want to pull chocks and leave when the time comes. I've been looking at property, possibly even buying a house for a rental to stay the ball rolling on getting citizenship.

Just curious if anyone has skirted the chicken laws in this fashion
 
People do that. They do a run across the border to refresh the status. Mexico and Canada.

Yes, if you live close to the border and local sheriff is chill. Local pd could build a case to give a fine because you never tag or tile the truck local, yet you use locally. Similar to how they try to crack down on Montana tags (those are Llc based) and other out of state tags that people use to avoid, tax/emissions/legality issues.
