I need to say thank you to everyone posting pics of there spring drives the last couple weeks. It was just the kick start I needed. :) Stayed home from work a couple days this week and got the cruiser up and running for the spring and went up the north shore this saturday. Put 250 miles on. Was a beautiful day.

What size tires are you running?
LOOKS MEAN!!

That is a beauty. I had my "gas cap" "Aquablasted" on Friday. A very different animal from the same era..

I'm going to be needing a new key blank for that.

While on the subject of Toyota caps I temporarily borrowed the valve cover from my other HJ45 to clean and noticed that the oil filler caps differ between the two vehicles.

This one is from engine no H52927 original to vehicle HJ45019958, according to registration first liable for licence fees on 1978-01-01.

These were assembled CKD in South Africa, by Toyota SA.

An interesting little variation which may interest guys such as yourself who make a study of these things.

Amazing TECH on the CKD Topic !

much of what i do in my spare time on my land cruisers this week , is indeed study Toyota Historical facts , its simply the best self prescribed ART Therapy time i could ever ask for ... :)

i know a bit and studied in detail too the CKD past ...........

see below Photo, only one ever i have come across.....

PM me on the Diesel Locking cap key topic , i will be a honer to make my first one , if i can 🤔

Here are your needed oil caps , Teq is NOS , the Universal Language GLOBAL Spec. Market one is pre-owned , but A- condition , i have included a NEW OEM Toyota Oil Cap O-Ring too ..............FYI , there is NO cost involved , professional samples lets just say ....:)

its simply amazed me i actually had a H Series Engine Specific oil cap in my Stash , so MUD-SHIP rules here apply .....

Thanks. Toyo m/t 285/75r17 they are supposed to be 34.1 tall. On the vehicle they measure about 33.5 so far I am pretty happy with them. I was looking for a skinny 35 and this was the closest I found.

I dropped in my newly rebuilt 383 stroker. Lots of mistakes along the way. Did you know you need to add a quart and half of automatic trans fluid into the torque converter before you install it on the transmission.... not the engine? Luckily I learned these lessons before installing. I couldn't get a good enough pick to put the engine, transmission and transfer case in at once, so I split them and mated them after they were in.

For those of you who have installed the Dakota Digital electric speedo, did you put the washer on the transfer case side of the brass tang or the "dongle" side?

Replaced the door window vent rubber and the access hole covers; had my rear heater motor rebuilt, it was squealing from the bad bushings; and finished my RC 1/16 scale WPL FJ40, next to the Tamiya 1/10 scale.

New OEM sun visors. New OEM dash board. New 10W-40. New oil filter. Zip-tied the bottle jack, as washboard makes it come loose. Vacuumed out enough soil from the back of the tub to plant a garden.

I took it for a spin along the roads from the bottom right to the bottom left. Always exploring. I ate up most of the day, and, I only got half of the adventure done.

Canyon Diablo is pretty impressive. Thanks for sharing.

In the first photo you can see the rock climber's trail to the base of the cliffs. In the center of the last photo you can see the historic road from Buckman to the top of the Pajarito Plateau, the route used before NM 4 (now NM 501) was built from Otowi (further up the Rio Grande) to Los Alamos. And if you look closely, right in the center of the photo at the base of the Jemez Mountains, you can see the white water tower a quarter mile from my house.

It's easy to see why quite a few movies have been filmed in that area going back to the 1930s - The Texas Rangers, The Light That Failed, Silverado, The Missing, and 3:10 to Yuma (the latest remake) to name just a few.

I'm considering those tires myself...
It's either that or: 285/75 or 255/85 R16's, they measure 33.1" tall. But i LOVE those tall and skinnies!
They look Pimp!
Thanks Yo!!!
