A little stream maintenance. Put the wench to work and pulled a box elder out of the creek.

Where's the picture of the wench?
She must be one bad ass wench!

It had no problem yanking that sucker up and out of there. I'd say it's a decent wench....:smokin:

Next to install, "new" bib, replacing rusted out original. Note that this is from an older model, with early-style headlight modules. Some cutting, drilling and rivet-nuts in order to accept '73 and later headlight assemblies:

Damn - I have so many rattles I don't even know where they're coming from...I think I'd have a better chance identifying the parts that don't rattle...

I actually have mine pretty rattle free, there are a few squeaks from the drivers side door I can't track down and some racket from the rear hatch area I haven't been able to pinpoint. Aside from that it's the roar of the mighty 2F and 33's that is deafening.

Been buried in spring chores, but have fired the 40 up a couple of times for a short spin.

Meanwhile, I've been helping a buddy out in my shop, and had a great visit from my neighbor, Gordon. I love hearing his stories about growing up farming in IL, his old tractors, and learning more about the history or our small town in western MA. Honestly, I just love when he swings by when I'm in the shop and we just shoot the sh*t back and forth.

This isn’t what I’ve done - but it’s what I’ll be doing. Received a much anticipated box from @white-knuckleoffroad today. Going to see if I can find some time to get these installed before my first attempt at wheeling the 40 next weekend.
