I made a radio blank plate today.
The stereo the PO installed didn't work so I ripped it out and I just bought a single DIN storage box.
I'm still toying with getting the USB port wired. The lighter wasn't getting power and I stopped looking for the reason. I'm putting in a secondary fuse box for the charger and the fog lights I plan on installing.

@2dub tjis is a $20 blue tooth amplifier behind the plate using 12v power and wired to the two front speakers by the kick vents. Pairs to the phone quickly and has a volume control… works!
EDIT: by the way, those floor mounted kick vents speaker mounts are convenient but on the drivers side, I am USUALLY rubbing the left side of my clutch shoe against the speaker grill. Annoying enough that I’m going to remove them and find another place to mount them

Trying out a little heavier oil during all this Texas Heat. Regular oil was like water!! Anyone else use this?
I use the regular not synthetic
I use Rotella T4. I don't think there is any advantage to a full synthetic in a non-turbo non-diesel Landcruiser engine. YMMV.
Well.... honestly didn't know it was for turbo! Don't think it'll hurt this old beast. Maybe I'll go faster.....

Years back when the synthetic first came out there were lots of stories about folks killing older engines by "cleaning them out" with the new stuff. One of my friends lost an engine in less than 100 miles with the new oil.

I ran Pennzoil 10W40 year round and most of the time just kept it topped off because the rear main leaked from the factory. The higher temps the 15W40 should be fine. Much better then what Detroit has in the domestic motors.

This engine was stripped down and rebuilt so no sludge to clean out. Guess I'll just keep an eye on everything for a bit and see..... bought 5 gallon bucket.
Do you have a link for that box? I need a place to store my cellphone while driving. Thx...

Moved my Pack-out crate storage from passenger side top driver side to combat the dreaded FJ tilt.

Or get a 29 gal tank to replace the tank on the PS that spans the with of the cab under the seats.
