Watching my son change his caliper in the dark. I'll quit making fun of his rock lights now.

Here we go again, same year and color as the one we built for Mitch. Guess I can’t get away from this group. Doubt I’ll take this as far as our last one but who knows. Stranger things have happened.

Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in!

Lift kit arrived late Monday, Ironman 4x4 Foam Cell Pro stage 2 with constant rate front springs. Ironman4x4 America is currently running a pretty good sale as gave me an extra 10% off when I placed my order over the phone. They took the time and answered all my questions, I’d definitely purchase from them again

UPS took their time delivering it (we’re the second to last house on the delivery route) and the the misc parts box had busted open in the truck. The driver had done a good job of trying to keep it all together. UCAs look really good. And they even labeled the coilovers.

Installed the lift while doing my conference calls for work. This telework gig ain’t too shabby.

After a short drive it’s sitting at 3” of lift in the front and 2” in the rear. Still has about a 1” rake. So far I’m very happy with it. Might be a while until we can get some trail miles under her.

Kind of a perspective skew of the lens but the truck does still fit in the garage with room to spare.

Did you have to get it realigned after the install?

Where are you going to mount your green "MaxTrax?"
No where. Thinking of selling them. I already have a set of Maxtrax.

Finally replaced my blown rear Radflo. with better used Radflo. Remote res adjuster. Will be rebuilding the others and selling. For a 4” lift 80 or 100 of anyone’s interested.

Also test fitted 100 series front calipers on the 80. Spacing about 1/8” off but some grinding they will fit. Taking pictures will do a write up. Should be on in a week or 2

This looks like it is going to be a 45 body on an 80 frame/drive train? If so, would that make it a FJ 62.5? Have you started a build link?

No way to put a number to all the parts on this... yes, 80 frame, 100 series 2UZ engine/tranny and 45 body.... Vera is her name...

Not including daydreaming, stalking or lurking around other like builds, you have been physically working on that for well over a year and I had no idea. I need to look around Mud more often. That is going to be a KA rig. Definitely following that build.

Well, I actually got it running over a month some time ago, then on the start of this stay at home order decided to work on it hardcore. It brings me some peace being able to get away from the news and focus on something. So really, you only missed the last 40 days....

I had been working on this.

After losing Rob, I needed something to keep my mind occupied, so bought that thing. Looking back, not sure it was the best choice, but have made some good friends in the 70 section and @cjmoon taught me how to set up a rear diff -- so learned some. Basically a half year of my life working on it, and I was burnt out, so parked it and started on Vera.

Thanks to @1994pd for helping me get my favorite body hammer back!

Did some driveshaft work on the Tacoma - it needed a new center carrier bearing which involves removing 1 u-joint. Further inspection of the u-joints revealed they all had some slop in them and they do not have zerk fittings. So all 3 u-joints were replaced with grease-able u-joints, along with the carrier bearing.

i got close to that rear driveshaft job on the highlander, We sold the truck instead.. but.. she did have 330000 miles on her. I really didn't want to do that job. Kudo's to you for tackling it.

It wasn't too bad, this was the second one I've done - Kind of a common problem on these trucks
