What about an SM465 instead of the NV4500. I realize it's an older, less refined unit. Is it shorter than the NV? Is the H55F strong enough to mate to a Cheby V8?

Body is in great shape.
Got some sort of aftermarket springs.
Disk brakes all around.
Hack job power steering.
Stock axles.
Really nice custom roll bar.
And a great big void between the grill and rear diff.
But that's perfect 'cause I've got a 5.7 first gen Vortec fresh and ready sitting in the garage.
Plan is to build a highwayable expedition rig. Father-daughter project with 13 year old Anya.
