It sounds like its coming timing area, i cant hear it from inside the cabin.
1997 Land cruiser
208,000 miles
does speed up with rpm change. AC compressor is out so i cant test it while running AC.

iused the old screwdriver to the ear but i couldnt pinpoint where its coming from. powersteering pump was bad so to be safe, i changed pump and vane gear but sound is still there.

What does that mean? It's possible to damage the input gear on the power steering pump, causing a knock-like sound. Did you install a new PS pump or rebuild it?

That video is pretty terrible. No lighting, and just a quick glimpse under the hood.

Easy stuff:

* Damaged power steering pump gear
* Idler pulley bearing
* Damaged belt
* Broken belt wrapped around something (just experienced that one)
* Fan nuts loose (this is really reaching) or reality bad water pump bearing

IF you can determine that it is coming more from the drivers side than anywhere else.....then my first 'guess' would be power steering pump gear. It sounds suspiciously like that. Some folks temporarily pull the pump , run the engine for just a few seconds to see. It will make a mess but is a quick way to check.
