Hopefully someone can help me with a vacuum problem on my 40.
I swapped a 2fe and put a new fuel tank behind the rear axle for my fj40. I have an issue where the vacuum port on my fuel tank gets splashed with fuel often, which then pulls fuel up to the engine bay through the vacuum line.
To solve this, I want to install a simple canister between the fuel tank and the charcoal canister, mounted as high as possible, to allow fuel to be pulled into, then have it drain back to the tank. The purpose would be very similar to the fuel separator used in cruisers.
On the passenger side rear wheel well of my 40 sits this emissions control vacuum tank. I’d like to use it for the purpose of keeping fuel from going forward to the engine bay.
Does anyone have a diagram of what this tank looks like inside? Could it be used as a fuel/vapor seperator?
