What does a 81-85 pickup/4runner front axle look like??? (1 Viewer)

Looking to snag some front disc brake parts off of an 81-85 p/u front axle...I found someone local who has both a 79 and 83 for parts. Just to make sure I don't grab the wrong one, can anyone tell me the differences---I've attached the photo of the what he says is the 83. Does that look correct, and are the parts too far gone with rust??? Thanks!!!!

you can upgrade the rotors to vented 40 rotors and use later big piston calipers.

Don’t be insulting our cancerous Midwest rust with your southern patina.... those are solid parts.

I've been corrected with the southern patina/rust belt differences several times....I never learn

But is that from an 83????? He's got multiple axles laying around, If I can tell the difference between the years I may be able to pickup some parts for my MUD friends......

79-85 solid axles are the same as far as knuckle/brake swapping is concerned.

They have the same big pattern knuckles,spindles, hubs and birfs as the 60 series. If you want to keep the stock arms you have to cut the extra part off the left one and add the taper spacers for the tie rod of keeping the little stock 40 TREs.
