The title says it all! This is a school/personal assignment. I am an ME student at UNCC and one of our assignments is to come up with a design that can be manufactured using different materials. With that said, I am pondering about ideas for my 80 and want to get an idea of what you guys would be in a market for. Basically, I would use CAD to draw it up and then bring it to a fabricator or manufacturer and see if we could work something out or just make it myself.

So far I am thinking of...

- .25"aluminum/.5"UHMV skid plate or 3/8" steel steel skid plate
- front swaybar disconnect brackets
- sliders
- front bumper
- rock rings (knuckle)
- LED light bar brackets above windshield

Lemme know of your ideas! Thanks.

An adapter to connect a Chrysler NAG1 transmission (6.1 Hemi V8 version) to the Toyota HF2A transfer case. Also a set of engine mounts for a 6.1 to the toyota frame brackets.

Quick like a bunny, please......:grinpimp:

A bellhousing to attach an 8 speed ZF auto transmission to a 1FZFE and an adapter to attach that transmission to a part time transfer case. Or maybe a front driveline disconnect.

A hot co-pilot that can wrench....and doesn't talk much.

:rimshot

I bet I get a transmission adapter before that ever happens.......

Being a ME myself, here are a couple of more practical :frown: suggestions:

1. Roof top tent incorporating FG, CF, ALUM etc. The design should minimize weight and aerodynamic drag.
2. "Off-road" camping trailer with modular design allowing multiple-functions (e.g. Bulk carrier, ATV carrier, etc.)
3. PTO unit that runs off TC; and
4. Compact gas or diesel fuel aux power pack that is capable of generating elec, hot water via heat exch and perhaps a small water pump and filter sys to provide potable water.

An adapter that plugs into a receiver hitch to swing out to the -left- with another receiver on it that I can put a bike rack into.

All of the 'swing out' bike carriers open to the right - which is what my spare tire does too = conflict.

A 2" receiver bar stock with a 2.5' bar, spindle, another 2.5' bar, 2nd spindle (to turn bikes 90* when open), open receiver to mount a 4 bike carrier on. Latches or pins to hold it in closed and open positions.

A Western Snowplow mount, that allows me to keep my ARB bullbar in place.:hillbilly::hillbilly::whoops::eek::doh:

Didn't someone imply that Nissan Patrol front sway bar disconnects work on an 80 series?

Front Swaybar Quick Disconnects

I haven't heard about this Nissan Patrol option, but easily disconnecting the front swaybar would make a huge difference for the type of trips i like to take.

Seriously, i want you to get an A on this project!

OE Style Ladder for rear hatch. I have a lot of pics of one to share.

Rear cargo barrier with additional roof storage area for small light objects.

Attic rack done
