Long time lurker first time posting. Here is our m101a2 transformed into base camp trailer:

Thanks! Not much yet. The "kitchen" is all contained in a rolling case. Water is currently out of Scepter water cans. Got a Joolca water heater and kitchen sink.
It works, but it takes a few minutes to set it all up.

Just ordered the Alpha tent and awning/room for my M1101. Designing an articulating rack that I can lower to keep everything in garage and as I travel. Goal is to raise to same height as LC once at camp site.

Nice, I have the same tent and awning. I have it on my FJ55, but want to use it on my M101A2. I'll be following along on your trailer build. and how you make the lifting rack.

EDIT....Take pictures!

Today I put water in it and fluid film under it. I used the Warn on the FJ60 to tilt the trailer so that I could pressure wash the underside and apply a coating of fluid film. While it was up I also pressure washed the bed since it had about 25 years worth of dirt in the Durabak. When I bought the trailer I cleaned the bed and applied Durabak. It's been ok but it rips easy with sharp heavy objects and has peeled some. Will likely remove it and go with paint one day, or @cruiserinsanity will.

Been a busy few weeks so progress is slow, but bed and exterior is sanded, degreased and ready for paint. The underside will be cleaned, and sanded to get painted black but top side gets fitst dibs on paint. Switched out the loop for an articulating coupler. Hydraulic brakes removed and replaced with electric and wiring harness updated to 7 pin (previous owner).

Designing rack to utilize gas struts and more than likely will be hinged in corners to allow for "flex" so once pins are pulled the first side goes up, then do the same on the other side. This eliminates the need for expensive electrical driven struts to lift the upper portion as a single unit. 60lbs struts on corners will easily lift the 175 lbs tent. And allow for one man "closing" at end of stays.

Storage is another issue I'm attacking. This trailer will be left at sites and securing contents obviously will need to be addressed. Standard truck bed boxes are not wide enough and my OCD won't allow for wasted space to be unused. Lol

Exterior and undercarriage all done. Not bad for rattle can. Lol. Next up is bedliner, wheels to match LC and tent rack. Have preliminary design done and sent to engineer friend to review for tolerances and limits.

I bet it rides nice on the bump stops. :)

lol. it’s actually pretty light weight stuff but filled it up. lots of spring yet. it’s my bike rack hitch that’s the problem. drags on the ground anytime i leave a parking lot. oh well. i have a proper 1UP rack i use on my cruiser and when not pulling a trailer. this one’s cheap and crappy so i don’t care that much

Started this thread 11 years ago and still have the M100. Hauled it up to Mendocino at the end of September full of firewood and camping gear.
Stopped at the Owl Cafe on the way out in Cloverdale for a pic. Had many lunches with my dad over the years here. Miss the old guy.

Finished upgrades to the M1101 I started working on thus year. Rack built and installed, tool box installed, 25 gallons if water, portable water heater in tool box, and installed RTT.

Went with individual water cells because I won't always need the max water, removal and draining of water is easier to avoid mildew in the containers compared to a single large container or tank. I run into that issue in other builds.

Added a solar panel trickle charger for battery and test run of the tankless water heater. Will feel great to have hot showers before driving home after a few days of hunting.
