Added a much-needed are rest, color is almost the same.
Used the original cup holder bolt and added a second one thru the metal behind.
It also gives you additional storage space.

My son and I are getting started on some Land Cruiser brake maintenance for our 80 series. New OEM Toyota rotors, calipers, brake hose, brake pads and wheel bearings.

After fishing I did some more exploring, drove home, and enjoyed the beautiful Southern Utah winter views. Oh yeah I almost forgot, I also had to tear into my rear hatch and disconnect the wiper controller because my rear wiper somehow decided to turn itself on and get stuck at full speed..... that will be tomorrow's project lol.

When that happened to me it ripped one of the transmission cooler hoses off and bent the bib on the radiator.

I recall your saga and was about to go on the hunt for your post as I believe you ID’d a Gates ribbed pulley that will Work.

And I just had hood up at auto store thinking I had a bad idler. Stuck a steth on a few with no obvious culprit and drove home to find this while swapping headlights. Never heard or felt it but it did seem gutless in last grade.

Belts probably didn’t have 1500 miles on them :/

Not quite this weekend but maybe two weekends; spending almost two weeks in Costa Rica and admiring the Cruisers we unfortunately don’t get in the US....

I never fixed it other than letting the truck dry out. I am pretty confident that water was getting into the area in the driver side rear quarter panel under the oem jack. From my research the most common source is actually in the wiring between the roof and rear hatch where the wires flex whenever the hatch is opened. I inspected all my wiring from the wiper control box in the hatch and the wires between the roof and hatch and found no problems. That's why I checked under the floor jack and I definitely had water getting into the connections under the jack.

If I were you I would start by checking the wires going into the rear hatch, followed by checking inside the rear hatch, and lastly check under the oem jack.

I bet those horns are important living in Cali, the roads are crazy there.

Even more important though is keeping cruisers from burning down. I would recommend the Land Cruiser Phil battery hold down bracket.

Had to upgrade the horn to match the truck, stock horn sounds like the road runner, "meep meep", lol. The roads are definitely crazy and it is nice to know that I will for sure be heard if needed.

Thank you for the battery hold down tip, for sure its on my to do list, haven't had the truck for long. I will check it out and install it. Don't know how I'd feel if my lil truck burned down. Thanks friend.

Just installed another set of Eaton Elockers (no more Harrop guys) and I have found this is the best location for the relays. Need to design a better bracket that’s not so, well, one off’ed. Regardless, they mount nicely here and no holes drilled in the Cruiser. The white-red ugly wires are PO on a trailer brake controller that may very well be causing a parasitic drain. 🙄

We have done 7-8 sets of elockers this year. Both Harrops and the last three Eatons. If you didn’t know Eaton made the Harrop anyways and now Eaton is not giving up the USA market on Toyota’s to its subs. It’s the same locker but the Eaton has a nicer wiring harness and the price is solid.

Cheers

Awesome. Thanks Sam.
Who’s the Mfg on those? Gates? Can’t quite make out the logo.
Yup, Gates brand from a NC O'Reilly's although from back in 2009.
