Just today this occurred. It will not lock up the converter regardless of speed. I don't see to have any other issues. I verified kick down adjustment and just for fun drained and filled the trans pan.
Fluid was full, looked fine, did not smell burnt.

I searched and found quite a threads on the newer A442F and the newer 1HDT in regards to tps, but I don't have one.

Welp, I've got bigger issues.
I have 6 neutrals. I took it for a drive to see if I could figure anything out. Rpm's started to flutter in o/d then it acted like it was in neutral. I was able to limp it to a parking lot using varying techniques of low range, or high with the diff lock. Each trip becoming a little more work. I am guessing the converter has s*** the bed. I'm waiting on a wrecker.

Little more info.
I spent some time on the phone with the shop that @torfab recommended.
Explained the issue and symptoms. His basic thought process is that the clutches in the converter are gone. That is why I lost lockup first. The clutches then continued to fail and have likely gone through the trans pump. I am going to be pulling the trans shortly to have it rebuilt.
