For those with diesel engines, what batteries are you running?

Not a diesel but I am running a SC35 Optima Red Top. The diesel might like a little cranking power though.

Looking a lot at antigravity and wondering if the juice is worth the squeeze. They claim it will last ten years but my Die-Hard platinum finally kicked the bucket after 6.5 years.

Battery life is dependent on your location. I have lived in the PNW and California prior to living in AZ. In the PNW and California batteries last almost five years, here in AZ they last about 3 - 3.5 years just due to the increased heat we see here in the summer.

The standard alternator on an 80 series isn't suited to charging an AGM correctly. AGM's require a particular charging profile and higher charging voltages. It will work but your battery will likely have a shorter life.

Mine still has some Japanese batteries in it.

Anything made by Deka/East Penn. They're sold under various brands, such as Duracell from Batteries Plus.

I installed one of these (Northstar) in the main battery location: https://www.batteriesplus.com/product-details/auto_light-truck/battery/x2power/sli27fagmdp. I leave my truck plugged into a CTEK trickle charger with an AGM setting whenever it is parked in the garage.

In the second battery box, I have a: Ampere Time 12V 50Ah Lithium LiFePO4 Battery - https://amperetime.com/products/ampere-time-12v-50ah-lithium-lifepo4-battery along with a Renogy 20amp DC-DC charger and Renogy MPPT 20amp solar charge controller. My solar panel is currently hard mounted to my roof, but I am going to take it off and consider getting a foldable panel since I always try to park in the shade. I have 8 and 12 gauge wires from each battery running to the back of the truck so that I can power my fridge and inverter from either source.

When my starting battery dies, I will probably replace it with one of these: Dakota Lithium 12v 60Ah Dual Purpose 1000CCA Starter Battery Plus Deep Cycle LiFePO4 Performance - https://dakotalithium.com/product/dakota-lithium-12v-60ah-dual-purpose-car-starter-deep-cycle-lifepo4-battery-1000cca/
