I’m in the process of replacing my ‘78 rear bed pan. I have the original one cut out and am in the process of fitting up the new one I got from CCOT. Does anyone know what these 4 screws are for. There is a nut welded on the bottom side of the tub, from the factory. The crossmember that they are attached to is spot welded to the floor, so I wouldn’t see a need in having 4 screws and nuts as well.

Looks like they locate the angled support and body mount for the rear panel.

How do you hold a cross member in place before it is spot welded? My guess is the factory used those 4 screws to hold the brace in place before it was placed in the device that would spot weld it.

Do you wish to keep the factory look or simply make it functional. If functional is your goal leave the screws and nuts off, if factory original then use them.

To make it exactly factory looking, might be near impossible. See the ribs, that are formed into the floor, right next to the screws, they curve inwards and the CCOT bed pan I have does not do that. It’s no big deal. I’ll just go without them, I was just wondering if they served some factory inside tie down purpose of the sorts.
