what are these 2 wires

Hey was just poking around my truck and found these 2 wires coming off the ignitor they are just cut and bundled up.

Previous owner probably had a tachometer hooked up.

Well that would be sweet!! I was goin to throw a tach in it next week! Might have 1/2 the wiring done now lol

Make sure you connect the tach to the negative terminal only, one wire.

they look old and brittle... i would replace them if your going to add a tach... and re-run to the cab cleaner

Surprising they are still nice and soft! The dirty might make them appear worse. Yes the ywill be routed better, i have some loom for that.

What do you mean only one wire? Whats the other one for?

The tach connects to the negative terminal of the ignition coil, the positive and negative wires from the tach need to connect on the switched side of your ignition switch. I can't tell by looking at the pic above where the second wire's connected to you need to remove the black cover from the coil.

So your saying the green and black shoulnt both be hooked up. The black should be grounded to the frame?

That's what the drawing shows. I've wanted a tach in mine for years, now mebbe I'll doit.

Yah my 67 had one i liked having it. Got a monday project now while im waiting for my new carbto show up!
