I'm posting my Troopy for sale with the hope that there is someone out there who would like to take over working on and enjoying the rig. It's an 87 HJ75 Troopy, RHD, 331,511 Kilimoters (205,991 miles), 12HT swap, H55, 12 volt, AC blows cold, was imported from Australia by previous owner. Titled in Colorado. Runs and drives well. presently has older OME suspension (rides pretty comfy for an old leaf sprung Cruiser) and a 3" body lift. Has a disc brake rear axle with a limited slip from a later 70 series. It is a nearly 33 year old rig so it has dings and scratches here and there. This rig has been garaged as long as I've owned it. I've driven this rig all over the southwest without any issues.
The "project" part the deal are the rust issues. The rig needs a bunch of rust repair/patch panels in/around the windshield frame. I removed the dash and windshield to inspect some evidence of rust around/in the windsheild frame area: of which I found some.
The worst rust in the windshield frame area are the tops of the A pillars right above the factory seam (the pics should tell the story).
There is a rust hole the gutter passenger side rear corner, it appears to be the only rot in the gutters.
There are pin holes at the bottom interior passenger a-post/door jamb
there is a rust hole behind the drivers side tail light assembly
There are pin holes in the drivers side rocker panel
I have already patched the passengers side floor board, removed the sound deadening material and treated any exposed metal or surface rust with rust converter.
The rain gutter needs to new sealant; I started to remove the sealant in and under the gutters as most of it had started to crack and treated the area with rust converter

New parts or work done with in the last 2000 miles:
5 new 255/86 16 BFG Mud Terrians on toyota steelies
OME shocks and steering stablizer
Front axle resealed/ serviced
new motor mounts
new clutch, including rear main seal
new front driveshaft
new Aisin hubs
LED interior and directional bulbs
ARB winch bumper (still has the shrink wrap on it)

Spare parts or new uninstalled parts:
OME front &rear springs w/ bushings & u bolts
SAAS Drivers side gauge pod, Autometer EGT gauge
Toyota OEM 12HT complete engine gasket/seal kit
Toyota OEM fuel and oil filters
used Toyota OEM snorkel assembly (needs a new end cap/hat)

Stuff that needs attention/ Bad stuff:
The second fuel tank wiring/plumbing has never worked as long as I've had the rig
The grid heater has never worked, it still starts right up in colder temps
From the looks of it, the Cruiser was resprayed not professionally quite a few years ago, plenty of orange peel and a few sags in the paint.
The speakers cut in and out.
some of the plastic dash trim panels are cracked
The body lift makes ARB bumper block the head lights a bit and just looks sh!ty

The roof top tent and awning ARE NOT included with the rig

How is the engine? Looking for a new one for my troopy.

It has always fired right up, doesn’t burn oil, holds good oil pressure. It does smoke upon start up but clears up once it has warmed up.

A couple interior shots, pardon the mess, it’s full of dash parts and the front seats and rubber floor mat have removed for the windshield frame repair.

I’m heartbroken that I was just seconds too late in seeing this post 😭😭

Thought I recognized that troopy from somewhere. Hope you are getting into another cruiser after this. Your old 40 is still kicking around great out here in Salt Lake

Hey John, glad to hear the 40 is treating you well! I will definitely be getting into another Cruiser hopefully sooner than later.

That was a good deal for someone I think, I'm glad I got to see it last summer.

I am still searching for the regulator for your 55. I've dug through lots of boxes so far. Still looking! I haven't forgotten you!
