Were there any emissions control devices on 2H motors?

I am doing a swap over on my 84 FJ60 to a 2H diesel and have been talking to my local emissions people, they said everything would be do-able, but they wanted to know if the 2H came with any emissions stuff when sold in Canada or the like? I need some data that I can show them about if or not they had any so I can get on with my swap. They say if they had it I need to run it, if not then no worries I just need to pass their diesel emissions test. Located in Utah, in a county picky about emissions!

Anyone know anything about this?
