New stock style master landed tonight.
Tomorrow we stop.

In the mean time, the last major piece is being built via @orangefj45 .... dual seal speedo housing. The truck has a front output tcase leak, but when I go in to rebuild the parking brake I want the rear sealed up tight too.
Pray for brakes....

Early morning math lesson.

New Master equals new rod adjustment.

Great use for my 49Tire Pros 2mm thick bottle opener. Thanks @wct49

I primed up the pressure bleeder and gave the new master a good bleed.
I kept getting air in the rear brake circuit so I went back to the old fashioned way and got it just right before moving over to the truck.

The bummer here is that I can’t use my Motive Bleeder with the dual reservoirs

So I reverse bled and BOOM......brakes it is.

So it was a bad master fresh out of the box the whole time?

Door prize?

yeah, you and JimC telling me the same thing is a real easy direction finder. Too bad it hit on the holiday week, parts shipping was slowwwww

Georg got the double sealed Tcase housings finished. It’s headed my way Wednesday plus lots of parts for The Mustard 78

I’ll be resealing the Tcase. The front was leaking and I have to do the ebrake rebuild so I wanted extra insurance the new owner won’t develop a rear output leak down the line and foul up his new ebrake.

The final pile of parts is finally here to finish this job. See the leak behind the housing on the ground? Time for that to go away. I’ll wait for a nice day and use the new lift for this project!

@wct49 put the fear of God in me over lifting the Weenie on a 2 post with no top so I waited until my jack stands came in

I had an annoying drip on the Tstat housing and cracked it open to find it had a piece broken off. Luckily I had a good one here.

Beno sent me a plastic fan for this model truck. I read the metal ones can be dangerous and I did not want to kill the new owner.

Got it up in the air. Raining and we are high and dry

One slick thing I got from Georg for the Mustard 78 was these stainless hoses. I thought this truck needed them so it got them.

This was the reason this project started. Slow drip on the front output.
Smacked the new seal in with a 54mm socket.

Absolute 100% awesome successful day. Thanks @USMC22 for the help. Having 2 people rolling on this transfer case rebuild was clutch. He did the ebrake and it is tight as a drum with the new cable.

Awesome. What a great deal to have Weenie not leaking and stopping on a dime.

Check out these brakes

It’s a beautiful morning when you walk up to the truck you worked on the day before to eliminate leaks and the shop floor is dry as a bone.

Back to mustard 78.....

So a week later and nothing is dripping from the drivetrain.

Happy as a pig in slop.

After “finishing” this one last week the new owner and I bounced around a couple ideas of what else and we landed on a Mosley Motors alternator rebuild and a gear reduction starter.

I mailed out the old charge box Monday and Mosley put a quick turn on it for me. I got it yesterday and slapped an @SMG sticker on it as the other one was not salvageable

Also got this sweet overflow bottle and bracket from @ToyotaMatt. Toyota quality overflow bottles are a critical part of the system in these old trucks. Great product.

Another great product from Matt is this choke cable. It’s a bitch to install in an FJ40 but it’s worth it.

This guy has been sitting a week and it fired right up. The new plastic fan is so much more quiet.

Weenie 3 was all about the farm today fetching tools and parts. This thing runs and drives so great.
There is nothing like a carb from @FJ40Jim

One of the plans I have had was to clean up the floor real good and Lizard Skin it from below.

View attachment 2155196

I scrubbed and scraped and cleaned and realized no matter what I did under here I would simply be making what rust is under here worse by locking it in between layers of this stuff.

Soooo.......Fluid Film it is. I am happy with this decision.

Don’t laugh at the exhaust.
