Pollute away brother. You saved a pile of crap I saved once that’s become a Mud classic
Roger that.

Had some fun adventures in this one.

Here’s my daughter and dog, Colorado backroads.

My son’s first car drive.

Fitted out with a new set of 34 x 10.50 Swampers and one of the original Ehsan canvas tops. Was a hoot to drive with the 3 speed. I actually loved the rust. It had absolute character.

Yeah. That truck looks a lot like I envision this one becoming. If I was to start over on the 40 front I would want a soft top. Thanks for the photos.

I start in on the engine compartment next. I’m really hoping it is a runner.

I'm slightly jealous about this......

I love this thread! Nice work!

The more I look at this engine bay, the more I think this may be a true 54,704 miles versus 154...254 or so on.

Not having any of the goofy electric fuel pumps, aftermarket carbs and no weird non - OEM parts really points that way.

Of course, that’s not a big deal to me if the 54,000 miles were put on it on a farm.

Im going to send a letter to the PO and see what I can find out.

Moving into Phase 2. Let’s clean up the engine, check the compression and start adding new parts that love to die while sitting up for 14+ years.

Thanks @USMC22 for teaching me about this Orange Zepp. This stuff is way superior to foamy engine degreaser.

Love the fact that there are still some remnants of the OE stickers all around

All this looks so unmolested. The temp gauge wire is one of the few non OE wires I’ve found (not counting the SF soldier attempt at Distributor work)

Project Patina was kind enough to give Weenie 3 a tug out of the shop

More good news.

Got all the compression numbers and they are good.

I hosed down the head and valves with some Sea Foam and the motor is spinning very nicely.

next I cracked open the fuel line and the OEM fuel pump is working. Win.

Then I removed the carburetor and the intake is beautiful and not cracked.

The thermostat housing disenegrated when I tried to remove it. That’s the only bummer.

Before I removed the radiator and thermostat I dumped some flush into the system and ran a hose through it all.

Nice green coolant came out of the block.

I’m getting it ready to push back inside. Last move was to CLR clean all the green paint under the hood and fenders. Solid day. I look forward to bolting clean parts back on.

Nice green coolant came out of the block drain plug. So many times this passage is blocked from people using water and not coolant

Spent the morning packing the pig for the Southern Swine Soirée then shot got the parts that needed painted wire wheeled and sprayed

Pig was a big help

Lol I initially thought you were trying to put that rocket box on backwards on the pig from the second pic. Maybe that’s what Pig thought too.
