The TTORA writeup sounds like it could be a real remedy, and that 1,000 percent of all Weber owners should do it, but I'd of done it a bit differently. Rather than pressing-in copper tubing which might leak, I would have threaded the tubular passageway and screwed-in a hose barb. Then I would have attached another hose barb to the top lid of my air cleaner, then attached a hose between hose barbs. That way I'm always venting the float bowl with clean filtered air and I don't have to worry about charcoal canister issues.
