been rebuilding a couple of older Webers for fun...
Man, these things are well built. Sturdy, thoughtful design, parts everywhere even for old ones....
Compare that to my newer fancy-looking stainless steel thin metal falling apart rusting through piece of Made in China cr@p..... (bought new at Costco of all places... and no I don't want to return it after this long....) That was a bad purchase.
The Webers are admittedly very expensive, but worth the extra $$ in my book... A good purchase if you can keep it for a while. The fancy crapola one I got was 1/2 the price but you can't get parts very easily and when you can they are very expensive, and the burners and heat plates are already shot after 3 years. The Webers will literally go forever with burners and heat plates replaced every 10 years or so I'm guessing....
Amazingly, you can get some Webers for free or very inexpensively on CL and they are very easy to rebuild... Fun too, much easier than working on a Landcruiser for that matter....

LOL on the "hard to find".....unless you look at HD/Lowes.
