Has anyone rebuilt an early water pump before. I was going to try to rebuild, or at least clean up, the pump from my 73 but I broke the wire clip. I’m not even sure what that clip did or how to disassemble this thing. Anyone have any tips or knowledge on this?

this is a highly labor intensive topic job scope

where are you sourcing a OEM toyota water pump kit still , i was under the thought they were long since disc. / NLA

the shaft will have scoring from the seal and 50-60 years of age and time ,

NO speedy sleeves for this , i have ever seen ?


i suggest you consider a practical made in JAPAN solution here below , comes with oem toyota genuine parts gasket , MY water pump is a KIT form product that includes ALL related mounting hardware and gaskets


needed bypass hose kit separate ...fyi

OEM period correct mounting hardware is also JAPAN made
