Water heater switch - reverse valve (1 Viewer)

Hello,

Last weekend, while pulling a Land Rover in reverse climbing steep rocky hill, my water heater valve gave his life back to creator. No worries, we managed to MacGyver an interim bypass that’s seems to hold on fine.

Once back home, placed an order online .. part arrived today. After taking bypass off and removing old switch - noticed that the valve operation on the new valve is reversed (see below pics for details). Before returning the new part and start searching for another that’s identical .. was hoping to find salvation at your holy forum.

You either bought one for a 91-92 and you have a 93-97 or you bought one for a 93-97 and have a 91-92.

Bad news...

Sounds like you have a 91-92 model which there no replacement heater taps for...

Most people buy a generic “universal” one and modify the heater cable to work. It looks dodgy and isn’t ideal but unfortunately there isn’t really another option...

tip of the day - replace your heater valve !!!

indeed there are tons of threads about the PHH and FHH - but only few on the heater valve - so let me just put it back out for public MUD awareness... for the "uninitiated".... the heater valve is dead center on the back fire wall - regulating the flow of coolant for your heater - move your...
