hello! I have a 1976 FJ40 in really great shape. For the most part it drives and handles really well and overall is great shape. I have a weird issue where on a cold start it fires up just fine. Pull the choke and turns right over. However after driving, even for a few minutes, it will not fire back up unless I turn the key, pump the gas pull the choke then push the choke back in. I was going to swap out the fuel filter and possibly the pump. But was curious if there was a way to diagnose either prior to just swapping parts. TIA

I found out by trial and error that hot starting my 77 when outside temp is 85+ works on first or second crank by pushing gas pedal to floor and holding it there - no choke. Revs pretty high upon starting but, hey, it starts!
