On my PC at home I am having issues with MUD loading very slowly. I have a broadband connection and do not have problems with any other sites that I go to. I am using firefox 3.0.1 and when i click the icon to go to MUD it takes approximately 30 seconds for the page to load and at the bottom the whole time is says "waiting for www.ih8mud.com..." and the green loading bar at the bottom right sits at about 80% loaded the entire 30 seconds. I consider myself pretty good with PC's but dont have a clue what to do here.
I read some of Woody's ideas about shutting off the avatars and other things to help the loading process go faster but i am not sure it that is what is going on here. after the 30 seconds the entire page comes up all at once no lag. this happens every time i load MUD up, click on a thread, or go back to the main page. the service that i have is Charter Communications and the only thing i can think of is maybe they have something in their firewall that is slowing me down. I can get on MUD just fine at work and it loads extremely fast...I am really at a loss here!! HELP!
