wait a minute.... am i stupid?

i could have sworn when i pulled my 3speed tcase apart that this existed.
now i can't find it. not only that, but in the manual it implys that it is only on the 4speed.
my head is starting to hurt.
this is the little unit... #11 as you can see in red.
does anyone know if i should have this?

You may have a PTO gear instead of a spacer on a 3 speed case...I think...I rebuilt my '72 3 speed case long ago.

Never mind. I'm smoken somethin'. #12 is the PTO gear.

Flip back a few pages in your manual to page 2-1 and look at that picture. There is a spacer there.

No, you do not need this spacer if you have both gears in there. IF you find one, try and put it in there, and you will get frustrated and angry because it won't go together properly. THEN you will feel stupid. (Don't ask me how I know.)

i set the gears in the case to get an idea of what was going on, and i couldn't understand how the spacer would fit.... so i guess i don't need one.
either way..... i already feel stupid.
