W93 fj80 Ac make loud squealing sound

why does may Ac run fine then start squealing? Then I shut it off and the sound goes away but comes back when I turn back on

try tightening the belt a bit. May be just a wee bit loose?

Sounds like a loose belt causing it to squeal when the compressor engages. (As inkpot stated)

Once a belt has slipped a lot, the contact areas on the belt get polished smooth which reduces its friction... promoting more slippage... which promotes over tightening the belt.

Best to replace the belt.

This is exactly how my compressor went bye-bye. Get out and look at the pulley to see if it is turning when the noise comes back.
