ah yes...let me begin with my questions...

I have started the process of starting up the 1995 vortec 4.3l into my toyota truck. I pulled the top of the intake to make sure the spider injector isn't leaking...

this is what I found:

little pool of fluid down at the bottom. I powered up the fuel pump, but couldn't find any leak. Does it need to be replaced?

next up - check the static timing on the truck. I had to pull the distributor to replace the oil pressure sender. I am confident that I got the distributor put back in fairly close, but can't be confident. Is there a check for static timing like on the 2F?

thanks!

Wrong.

Replace it with a 1KZ-TE--like God intended. The double cab Hilux demands no less. :grinpimp:

Dan

I will gladly accept a 1KZ donation. Please let me know when I should be expecting it ;)

anyone else have any useful information?

Post up on the Chevy board at Pirate.

Probably will not be flamed and you will get a honest answer. (I think it's leaking)

4.3 is a sensible and reliable swap. Toy engines are fairly reliable but like all vendors, have some issue. (Think 3.0 slow, and the design of the timing cover on the 22RE)

4.3 makes great power and parts are reliably available
