So there are tons of threads on the different sounds and vibrations our 80's make, have made, are making. I learned of an interesting vibration the other day, which turned out to be a real quick fix. Turns out the 80's w/ the dual cats (believe all FzJ's) have a rubber spacer between the mount and the car body for the exhaust. these tend to ware down and break up causing the exhaust to shift quite a bit hitting anything in the way in my case one of my slider mounts. New rubber mount from Toyota and a little wrenching time and all done. No more rattle sound and vibration. Check those rubber mounts.
