So, i recently heard that the drive into venezuela to accesorize your rig was a pretty good idea. Also considering that they have everything related to my 70 series, i was wondering if anyone from venezuela can post some prices for the accesories they have put on their Toyota. It would be an 8 hour drive to the border from where i am, Bogota... and from there on it would be completely up to what information i can get about accesories shops and what not.

My guess (according to what ive heard) is that the shops in San Cristobal are not bad at all, but ive come up with nothing on google or any other search for that matter.

In short, i would be interested in a drive from Bogota, Colombia to somewhere in Venezuela IF and only IF the prices and availability of the accesories was worth it... What do you think!?

There's a couple of shops in Barquisimeto and Valencia that might be worth the trip, but I'll let some non-transplanted Venezuelans speak up.

Exiled, so ive heard... the trip to valencia is sort of far away, but still if the prices are right and there are trips to take around the area... it might be worth it. Do you happen to know the names of the places in valencia or barquisimeto? All i have heard of is GEO4WD.com...

Thanks again and im waiting for a venezuelan to speak up....

Hola Alberto, you may want to contact Pocholin, he's one of the owners of www.bt4x4.com and might be able to point you in the right direction. I assume you'd be crossing through Táchira...They have a distributor in San Cristobal, which is the closest city to the Ven-Col border.

hello my friends.... well I was on vacations... some of the price are cheep some are the same... for example .. my company make a front bumper... (rally type) for 1.950.000 bolivares (venezuela money) 1 us$ = 2150 official exchange... but in the black market is around 1us$ = 3900 bolivares..

Here in venezuela have a lot of problem train to sell ours products to all the world.. the exporting law in my country are pretty bad.. so its a PITA. but if you drive to venezuela its another history..

any further informations just ask..

this is the front bumper (rally type) its come with the crome protection

80jay: so ive heard... also, since my car is now a rag top, they told me to be EXTRA carefull and never leave it unattended because there definitely was a problem with security... i was planning on going with a few other people, so i hope there wont be a problem. Thanks for the info anyway.

Pocholin: thanks for the info, as far as the ARB lockers, the Snorkel and the Old Man Emu suspension... whats the difference price wise? can you quote any other prices for accesories?

Thanks again

Hi bro I'm from Valencia If you're comming here you can check out Ventuari (http://www.ventuari.com.ve/) and as Exiled said before in barquisimeto there's another pretty good company that also have really nice bumpers check it out http://www.proline.com.ve.

Hope this help!! and check out the websites first to decide where are you going and what are you buying. Geo4wd is also an option but they're crazy with the prices. they're ARB distributors so they are the main part where you can get ARB products and OME suspensions.

So if you decide to go to GEO4wd and Ventuari (Valencia) you can also go to Proline accesories that is in barquisimeto and is like 2 ours from valencia and is really a nice route because you pass through the coast so you'll have great views.

 and enjoy the ride!!

Sorry I forgot!!! http://www.geo4wd.com/

the best place to ask about price is geo4wd. for arb products ... some time they have good offer.. the snorkel is around 1.000.000 bolivares... i just buy one last month.. but its better if you ask them for price... if you want more info .. mail me to luisbonnet@cantv.net and tell me what you are looking for

Great websites guys... i was pretty much specifically looking for ARB products like the diff locks, the snorkel and (although not 100% sure about it yet) the Old Man Emu Suspensions... I tried to send Geo4wd a message asking them for prices but i guess the best way to do it is calling them up so they can spec the correct products and prices.

Pocholin, It sounds pricey for you guys but here in colombia the snorkels go for 545USD. the OME suspension is about 2200USD and the diff locks are pretty much impossible to get... so, its actually worth the trip.

If anyone knows of any stores int San Cristobal, that would actually shorten my trip quite a bit... i'm lookin for locals to gimme the inside scoop ;)

Thanks

Too bad, i thought there were more venezuelas on MUD... I was hoping to get some more info on prices and locatons.... anyone?

There are a number Venezuelans on mud, but they might have missed your thread. Don't lose hope :flipoff2:
