‽Fix the title. A question mark...really
Welcome
That color is : "Smokey Topaz Mica" had these paint issues from factory, if I'm not mistaken there even was a recall on that.
12k $ for a 19 year old truck in need of a paint job is too much, IMO. That truck better have a pristine interior and undercarriage for what they're asking. People try to capitalize off of low mileage with these trucks when in reality mileage just isn't that big of a consideration.
Just my 2 cents of course.
That DOES look like 'Smoky Topaz Mica', if so the color code on the door sticker will be 1C2 (same color as mine). There was a TSB on that paint color but never a recall. The issue is not only with the clear coat peeling but the actual pigment in the basecoat. It will begin by fading (creating spots) and then gradually get worse.
Curiously... not all vehicles experienced this....but looks like the one in the advertisement has that issue.
It is not unusual for vehicles in Texas and Arizona to display paint fade on the hood and roof if they have not been garaged and always exposed the sun, but this is something completely different.
Yeah, it tends to look something like this. But the clear coat does end up failing as well. It’s kinda funny. No clue if some of the panels were repainted, but the hood, and a couple of doors look like 23y/o paint, the rest is bad. But, honestly, after 2+ years with it, it’s kinda grown on me. My wife on the other hand.......... HAHAHA

Yep, that's it. A flaw in the paint pigment (not all vehicles do it) results in your vehicle looking like it has Leprosy. Unfortunately....a 'proper' paint job (whole vehicle) will lighten your bank account $6K-8K unless you know someone in the business.
A shame too....because I dig the color. Only like Galactic Gray better.
