Painted mine myself.

I did something similar to my High School Celica. Except I just flat filed the paint back off the raised lettering after painting.

Ain’t no @NLXTACY level candy apple red faux carbon fiber hydrograchic porn, but still gets me excited. Fresh back from PC and a little block sanding...

I did one too. Took it to transmission shop and had them put it in the dishwasher. Put a few coats of "dirt" color on there, sanded the words, then a few coats of hi-temp clear. Was pretty worried it was going to yellow from heat and collect a lot of grime, but it still looks as clean 6 months later.

Scored this at the junk yard for $16!! I’ve seen red, black, grey, gun metal..... idk why, I’m leaning towards like a highlighter / neon yellow color? Ideas? Also a picture of my truck for reference

Ohhh. Very interesting. I like it

This will serve to demonstrate that you really need to go down the powder coat road to do this correctly. High heat paint doesn't last a year...

What happened to it. It looks good in the picture you posted.
It is incomparable to how it looked when it was first done. Now the paint has yellowed slightly and started to crack around the filler cap area. I replaced all the plug seals last time so I am not in a hurry to send it off to the PC. Unless it starts to get worse it will do for now..😁
