Hi Relaxed, yea its leaking at the valve cover (according to my mechanic, at least) and there oil all around it. Is it easy to get the cross over pipes out of the way? Dont know exactly where the the leak is, but I already bought the gasket so might as well replace it. Does look like a nice gasket design. Many thanks for advise! snapsNo need to get the turbo out here, just the crossover pipes.
Is the gasket leaking ? Be sure that its not leaking from annother source as the rocker cover gaskets are fine for years and can safely be reused.
If you use sealant gue - alright, that works just fine but I would recommend it only for getting home in an emergency because its so messy to clean up when you taking it off for a valve clearance check.
Over all the years I've never had to buy a new one - always seals 100%.
If you find the exact point were its leaking - you might be able to use just a little gue there and be fine.
Roma, thanks will consider.I'd replace the grommet nuts / sealing washers while apart. To be honest if you're asking these questions I'd recommend you let your mechanic replace it. You don't want to drop a bolt somewhere or strip a rocker stud and open up a can of worms trying to save a few bucks.
