So, I decided to adjust the valves over the weekend after getting pissed at the light circuit.

Anyway, I thought they needed it-its been about 25k miles I think.

So, this time, I decided to go with the idea of a VERY tight clearance strategy. Meaning: I stuck the feeler under the adjuster and tightened down to JUST where I could not get it out i.e. stuck. Then backed off just a hair.

The valves were off anyway, BUT after I did that method.....Oh man! My engine has never been so quiet. Unreal.

All I hear is the roaring of that beautiful 22re intake ( :

190k on the engine and still purs.

God I love my truck.

Nice job. I agree with the technique. Adjust them tight on the feelers.

I love my truck too, but mine has an exhaust leak so it sounds like godzilla is dragging the washington monument down pennsylvania ave with a hoard of secret service screaming terrorist and unloading into the sea monster. :flipoff2:

Funny.

Yeah, I had one of those too. Was not the manifold though-thankfully.

Mine is quiet as can be.
