So I got a little agressive in replacing my smog pump and pulled a vacuum line off and I can't see where it goes. The one side attaches to the housing with the red top in picture 1. It then goes along the bottom of the firewall to I don't know where. Any ideas?

Must have been a vent. I put it all back together, and I can't hear any vacuum leak. 220k and this thing purrs like a kitten. It's amazing how quiet a new smog pump makes it.

Yeah it is the vent line to the HAC valve (red top vlave with 4 lines in top) which open or closes based on your altitude. I did the same thing before and thought it was suppose to be connected somewhere.

Why did your smog pump go out?

Was there oil in the air lines that where connected to it?

The cursed leaky power steering pump. Put in my second remanufactured pump tonight as well. Should have gone with OEM for the extra money.
