Hey everyone,
Since I have been told that some, if not many of my vacc hoses are not placed correctly, I would like to fix it. I have attached many pics of the hoses, can anyone help me correct the misplaced hoses? Thank you in advance!

Follow the links in the post below...then follow links in those posts to some diagrams and photo's of the correct vaccum routing:

https://forum.ih8mud.com/showpost.php?p=1839304&postcount=5

I recommend you purchase the 2F emissions manual. This has routing diagrams and details about the function and troubleshooting for each emissions system.

Take you time and trace each line against the schematics. If you find a line that is cracked or hardened, replace it with either OEM tubing or silicone tubing.

Good luck.

Is the 2F emissions man on the web somewhere?

Zack

It looks like the little black vacuum hose in the pic needs to be reconnected to the little plastic thing.

Kidding. Better read the manual. It's a spaghetti cluster with those things.

Well you are correct, but I think that is the EGR disconnected?

I don't know of one available for download. There was a guy on MUD about a month ago that was offereing to email his scanned copy of one, but I can't find that thread...

Yes it is disconnected. Also that blue band VTV connectd to the EGR shouldn't be there. Any hose that 's got a nail or screw stuck in the end isn't connected properly...

Blue band? and egr? Can you elaborate?

Thanks,
Zack

The red arrow points to the EGR valve. Inside the yellow circle is the VTV. From your pictures it looks like it has a blue band, but it could be black or another color. It doesn't matter because it doesn't belong there. The green arrow points to the EGR vacuum modulator. The EGR valve (red arrow) should connect to the EGR vacuum modulator (green arrow) There should be no VTV in that connection

You need the manual... it will be your best investment yet! To help simplify things, and if you don't plan on using your EGR. You might as well get rid of the EGR modulator and associated hoses. Get little plugs from your local parts store to cap the ends where hoses were removed.

x2 on the VTV, doesn't belong there... you might as well just pull the hose and put a cap on the EGR.

Good Luck. (That's the best I can offer)

x more on the FS manuals. well worth it. call CDan and he can get you with the people to order all 3 manuals. i paid $116 for all 3, much better than Haynes underwear or Chit-luns manuals.

search on this board for vacuum diagrams such as the ones 2mbb sent you. he helped me out as well on this one. also, might check on inside of a front fender, there should be a vacuum diagram, or what's left of one. good luck.

nail, screws......but where are the golf tee's? :)

I've got some metric golf T's that are the shiz! :)

Short of having the actual manual on hand, find someone with an intact 60, park them side by side and compare hoses.

Zack- Send me a PM and I'll e-mail you the smog manual in PDF form.
Yeah-Compare hoses.

i would love the manual too if its cool;)
my hoses are an freaken mess!!!
i got stuff routed into itself in there!
