Guys....anyone with a GM v8 swap have repetitive issues with their ps system?
Recently replaced about everything in the p/s system except for the gear and the two adapters that mate to the gear that allow me to use -6 hose. Steering is hard to turn....with known brand new "stuff"... at present it would appear the gear is the problem.
No apparent air in the system, no noise, no pump whine, no milky or foam fluid, all ps components changed expect gear and the noted -6 hose adapters. Anyone been down this road before?
Nothing makes sense for it to be a pump or hose or cooler issue. The cooler is on the low side of the ps system and the reservoir is on the high side, all hoses and cooler warm to touch...no apparent restrictions or kinks in the hose. I'm using hose rated for ps use on the pressure side.
Any known replacement steering gear swaps? I've got another rebuilt steering gear that I guess we will swap out...I hate to do that and still have the same issue but right now thats all that seems worth trying. I don't see how the adapters could be the issue...but I'm trying to think outside the box because right now...nothing really makes sense.
Given lack of other info...unless we made a dumb mistake on connecting the hoses at the gear....I have to think its the -6 hose adapters at the gear or the gear itself. nothing makes real sense outside of that at present time.
