That is a really cool ad Juane!
I would guess that ad was from 1964-65 based on the 327ci engine with a 365hp option. Those engines were only available in the Corvette in those years and had a huge double-pumper Holly 4bbl carb, a wicked cam profile, and solid lifters. The Rochester FI (mechanical of course) was 375hp. Fuel mileage sucked but at 30 cents/gallon nobody cared.
Finding an old FJ40 with an "original" 365hp (LT-6) engine would be like finding a gold mine.

Wow, you are a fount of knowledge on old muscle cars.
An LT-6?
Barrett-Jackson and Mecham auctions on Speed Channel.
There was no Google in 1965 so ALL information came from car magazines and car dealer hand-outs. I bought all of the magazines and read them from cover to cover and spent most weekends in the pit at the drag strip.

I believe Con fer is out of business, or is no longer the same Con fer the catalogs for which I use to get in high school

Ahhhhh, the days of the real muscle cars. My ride in high school was a 1968 Firebird 400. Scary power. I replaced tires with oil changes.
...he got chicks....I got valedictiorian.....![]()
And look where that has gotten you.
Exactly my point. If I had the Gran National I would have at least had chicks and in the end it's how many chicks ya get!
Muscle cars (and V8 cruisers) get chicks.

So, what did you drive?
Me too and I've owned a dozen sports cars in the years since but never a Vette. I almost bought a GN but I read a 'sneak-peek' review on the new 300ZX and I had to have one. Bought the first one in Houston when it was still headed to the dealer and watched them unload it off the truck. Sold it a few years later after the first snow in Casper, WY and it couldn't get up the driveway. When I was a kid I swore I'd own a Corvette someday. Never did.
