At that price I will take two please.

That is a really cool ad Juane!

I would guess that ad was from 1964-65 based on the 327ci engine with a 365hp option. Those engines were only available in the Corvette in those years and had a huge double-pumper Holly 4bbl carb, a wicked cam profile, and solid lifters. The Rochester FI (mechanical of course) was 375hp. Fuel mileage sucked but at 30 cents/gallon nobody cared. :D

Finding an old FJ40 with an "original" 365hp (LT-6) engine would be like finding a gold mine.

Yes, I believe 1966.
And yes, you gotta wonder how many conversions were made. And how many exist.
I believe Con fer is out of business, or is no longer the same Con fer the catalogs for which I use to get in high school....The famous jerry can holders and roof racks.

Wow, you are a fount of knowledge on old muscle cars.
An LT-6?

Barrett-Jackson and Mecham auctions on Speed Channel. :D

There was no Google in 1965 so ALL information came from car magazines and car dealer hand-outs. I bought all of the magazines and read them from cover to cover and spent most weekends in the pit at the drag strip.

Didn't know you were such a gearhead!

That ad says "Toyota Motors has approved our marketing of this special Conn-Ferr Land Cruiser." My, how times have changed.

I was looking for one of their Hi-Lift jack brackets a couple of years ago and found out Conn-Ferr is no longer in business.

I had to go look it up. :D The 365hp 327ci was an L-76 engine. The LT series came later and I'm not sure if they ever made an LT-6.

No GOOGLE?
How did the world function?

So, what did you drive?
When I was a kid I swore I'd own a Corvette someday. Never did.
Guess Chevy-powered Land Cruisers are the closest I'll get...

When I was growing up all I wanted was a Buick Gran National...black, EFI, beautiful car....all the high school hotties loved Marc Bombard's Gran National...and he got chicks....I got valedictiorian.....

I used to drive a 1970 Ford Fairlane 500 with the 302-V8 and a C6 auto tranny. Drive ins were very enjoyable :)

Why don't you boys quit crying. I drove a '78 pale yellow Impala in high school. Not one with power either. My first car in college was a VW Rabbit. Try being 6'2" and fit in that thing. A small booster and I would drive around town with my head out the sunroof. Best way to make that thing a head turner.

Ahhhhh, the days of the real muscle cars. My ride in high school was a 1968 Firebird 400. Scary power. I replaced tires with oil changes.

Bet you wish you still had that!
Boy, what a growing-up-in-California cliche.

My high school cars?
1948 CJ-2A, 1970 CJ-5, 1973 FJ-40 then a 1970 Super Beatle when I was in the USN.

Ya, you bet I wish I still had it. Actually, I went to this particular dealer because they had a 196X 'Cuda in the newspaper. But when I arrived it was sold and I settled on the Firebird. That decission was soooo hard. :grinpimp:

Exactly my point. If I had the Gran National I would have at least had chicks and in the end it's how many chicks ya get!

Muscle cars (and V8 cruisers) get chicks.

Ummm, I did have more luck in HS than I did after I sold the car. I guess the move from fast cars to slow trucks could be responsible for my lack-luster love life, eh?

Was the valedictorian a guy or a girl and was he/she cute? :flipoff2:

So, what did you drive?

1957 Chevy Bel Air with a 283 V8. It was silver with a white top when I got it. I worked in a gas station and saved every penny I made until I could have it repainted solid black.

When I was a kid I swore I'd own a Corvette someday. Never did.
Me too and I've owned a dozen sports cars in the years since but never a Vette. I almost bought a GN but I read a 'sneak-peek' review on the new 300ZX and I had to have one. Bought the first one in Houston when it was still headed to the dealer and watched them unload it off the truck. Sold it a few years later after the first snow in Casper, WY and it couldn't get up the driveway. :frown:

If Ross doesn't get a job soon I will be driving a 6-speed G35 Coupe. :D

I understand where you're coming from Onur. I graduated Salutatorian (first loser) and drove a multicolor '76 Datsun pickup. My buddies who didn't have cars still harassed me about it and referred to it as the Hoochiemobile. There was no 'getting chicks' in my high-school days.
